Slovak Governance Institute (SGI) is looking for an intern to work under close supervision of senior researchers on preparation, implementation, promotion and analysis of an online survey of return migrants in Slovakia. This research is carried in the framework of FP7 project STYLE. STYLE – Strategic Transitions for Youth Labour in Europe – is a large scale research endeavour which aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the causes of very high unemployment among young people in Europe and to assess the effectiveness of labour market policies designed to mitigate this phenomenon. SGI participates in work packages studying youth unemployment in relation to labour market mismatches, labour migration and policy performance.
The successful candidate will be supervised by senior staff in these stages of online survey implementation: finalizing content of online survey, piloting the survey, uploading it onto online survey platform, promoting response to the survey through various channels, collecting the data, cleaning the data and conducting pre-analysis of the data.
The internship will last for about 6 weeks starting from October 1st and will be remunerated.
PROFILE
The candidate should:
• Be a university student seeking an interesting learning opportunity
• Have at least basic excel knowledge, whereas statistical and database skills are an advantage
• Have experience or a proven interest in the following research areas: employment, labour migration, and public policy
• Have strong analytical skills, good time-management and strong interpersonal skills
• Be on the top of social media developments
• Experience with preparation and implementation of surveys is a big advantage
