Jan’s first work experience is closely linked to inclusive education. As Roma teacher´s assistant he had an opportunity to observe various system shortcomings of mainstream schooling that did not reflect needs of marginalized and socially excluded pupils. He dedicated his BA thesis to this theme, where he provides a detailed analysis of sufficiency and insufficiency of the current Slovak education system towards marginalized Roma.
In respect to defending and developing human rights, he was an intern of the European Roma Rights Centre in Budapest and Embassy of the United States of America in Bratislava. He participated in trainings organized by the Council of Europe, Democratic Institute and Visegrad School of Political Studies. The aim of the trainings was to promote active citizenship, inclusive education and rise the awareness level of active citizenship in marginalized communities. Currently, Jan is studying MA Program in Public Policy at Anglo-American University in Prague.
