The co-founder of SGI and the honorary member of the general assembly of SGI. Since July 2010, he is Member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic. According to the bylaw of SGI as a politically active person, an official of a political party, a nominee of a political party or a public figure according to constitutional law 357/2004, Article 2 paragraph 1 except p) and r) is not participating in any activities of the NGO, does not involve him- or herself into the managing of the NGO and does not act in name of the NGO.
He also teaches at the Institute of Public Policy and Economics of the Comenius University in Bratislava. Between 2002 and 2006, he was the State Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of Slovakia. He focuses on issues of employment and social policy, public finance and monetary policy, education policy, and governance. His graduate education including Ph.D. in Economics was done at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. He is the author of numerous papers and books. In addition to his academic career, he also works as a consultant for international institutions including the World Bank, OECD or the Department for International Development.
