Veronika Jursová Prachárová

Director, researcher

She has been working with the SGI Institute since 2015 and has worked as its director since May 2018. Her main research interests include access to information, the rule of law, and anti-corruption policy. She completed her master’s degree in political science in 2014 at Comenius University in Bratislava, with a thesis on the interdependence of energy relations between Lithuania and Russia. During her studies, she spent one semester at Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius, where she also conducted qualitative research on Lithuania’s energy policy. She received her PhD in 2022, based on research in Surveillance Studies. She has published studies on energy policy in the Geopolitics Journal and contributed chapters to books published by Palgrave, Comenius University, and others. Before joining SGI, she worked as an analyst for the Alfa think tank, specializing in defense and security, cybersecurity, access to information, and public procurement. In 2015, she was part of a research team conducting a Rapid Social Survey on the impact of the construction of the D4 highway and the R7 expressway on vulnerable population groups, commissioned by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
